The Jacaranda Apartments situated on Hastings Street, Noosa Heads are situated on prime real estate overlooking the stunning Noosa River. The redesign of this old commercial 1970’s property aimed to transform and modernise the building, creating a cohesive aesthetic that generated appeal both river and street side.
Working off the original structure of the building, the apartment balconies are extended with painted galvanised steel elements and rendered surfaces to maximise the space, pushing a simple and clean aesthetic. Privacy blade walls, sliding glass doors and semi-frameless glass balustrades optimise the river outlook for the apartment’s occupants and further simplify the building’s facade. The frontage of the Jacaranda Apartments combines a new upper level residential unit and an integrated shop front beneath a street-edge canopy, which provides shade and screening for passersby.
The new addition of a swimming pool facility is the focus of the complex as it provides occupants a shared place for leisure, relaxation and barbeques in a contemporary resort style setting, against the backdrop of a lush subtropical landscape and simple newly rendered surfaces.
