Came across this extremely disappointing billboard yesterday on the cnr of Jephson and Moggill roads, Toowong, Brisbane. Feel free to express your thoughts on the advertising ethics of this company and surprisingly its architect director Dan Burnett, with the AIA @institute_architects_aus @institute_architects_qld and with BOAQ or directly with “dan at future city architects dot com dot au” – Very Disappointing #architect #architecture #advocacy #architects

In November 2009, the strangler Cairn was made by world renowned artist Andy Goldsworthy (with help from local artist #hewcheefong) . It is composed of granite blocks shaped together with a strangler fig planted in the top. Over time the roots of the fig should grow down entwining and eventually engulfing the cairn. The imagined final vision is so evocative and the stone beautifully crafted in place but almost 8 years on, the fig is still an infant with little signs of much growth or roots (possibly multiple figs have been installed over the years) but maybe the long wait for nature to consume the artifice is the art – another 92 years should do it. #connondale #sunshinecoast #landscape #art #andygoldsworthy
